Where Every Story Starts at the Heart of the Game
Hi, I'm Rick Manahan. For more than 35 years, I've been blessed to work as a professional sports photographer, capturing basketball at the prep school, high school, and college levels. My camera has taken me across the United States, into Canada, and even to Europe, covering both men's and women's basketball. Over the course of my career, I've also had the privilege of covering MLB, NFL, and NCAA events — bringing the same passion and dedication to every sport I've photographed.
As a proud Nikon NPS (Nikon Professional Services) photographer, I've had the privilege of shooting with professional-grade equipment at some of the highest levels of sport. 
Over the years, I've had the chance to stand close to the game I love — but the greatest part of the journey has never been just the action on the court. It has been the people. The athletes, coaches, and families I've met along the way have inspired me deeply. Their hard work, dreams, friendships, and resilience are what led me to create Full Court Dream Publishing.
Why I Started Full Court Dream Publishing
I wanted to build something that could share those same values with young readers. Through sports-themed stories, I hope to inspire kids who already play sports, as well as those who may just be discovering them. I want children to see that hard work matters in every part of life — in the classroom, on the court, on the field, and in the way we treat others.
I also believe some of life's biggest lessons come not only from winning, but from losing, trying again, and learning to keep your head high no matter the outcome. My hope is that these books encourage children to dream big, work hard, be kind teammates, and grow into confident young people.
A Message for Young Girls
And especially for young girls, I want these stories to remind them that they belong in sports too — with courage, confidence, and no fear about chasing their dreams. Every court, every field, every slope belongs to them just as much as anyone else.
